SUPEREAL

Superreal is a study, part of an ongoing investigation
resulting in a series of exhibitions aimed at bringing together artists
who paint in a hyperrealist style. This project questions the resurfacing
of realism yet again, at a particular moment in contemporary art,
and more specifically, contemporary painting. At present, this turn
to traditional, familiar, and well-exploited territory translates
as somehow temporally dislocated. In a time guided by technology and
information overload, why turn to tradition in such a dramatic fashion?
