Collecting, Channeling

Curated by Sofia Hernandez (Mexico/New York)
Collecting, Channeling is a collection of projects generated from the hypothesis that de-centering, rather than struggling against, has the possibility of breaking down opposing binaries, and fostering a more dynamic network of social relations.
Television (an address) provides a platform for dialogue. Ziploc supplies and reprocesses a support. velocidadcrítica expands its own forum for discussion. In their own particular way, these three projects collect and channel a range of views, interests, and objects of material culture. What other myriad of things can be collected and channeled into the exhibitionary complex? This is something constructive that the biennial will hopefully bestow. But what can be significantly transmitted and potentially captured at once, in this biennial, is a question that remains unanswered. It is, however, partly dependent on what the works gathered might trigger, partly on what its public might bring to it, and partly on every impending accident in the midst of this.
