Ján Mancuska
1972, Bratislava. Lives and works in Prague

Mancuska´s installation creates an effect through the immediacy of its
production, through a patient human handcraft-like quality. His work uses any peripheral material of civilisation such as Q-tips, plastic bags, staw, paper, soap or wax. M·nËuška´s interest in the authenticity of production relates to a fascination in places with strong emotional- social charge. A kitchen intimacy, bathrooms, housing projects and weekend cottages, to name a few. Lately his approach has become slightly more objective through the use of video. In these works the camera´s attention is
completly focused on domestic routines.
