Jay Davis
1975, Charleston, USA. Lives and works in New York

The recognizable elements of landscape and architecture that
characterized Jay Davis' works in the past are here replaced by ambiguous structures and forms. Increasingly vibrant color and frenetic compositions bring to mind psychedelia, an association Davis encourages by coaxing the viewer to see faces and objects in his ricocheting stripes and expanding patterns. What is ostensibly abstract becomes the foundation on which to construct a personal narrative.
