Li Wei
1970, Hubei. Lives and works in Beijing

I often have the feeling of floating, the feeling of sinking.
Yesterday my head was stuck fast in the cement surface of a road,
while my body swayed above, straight as a brush.
The day before yesterday, my head was floating freely in the air; it scared the life out of a group of schoolgirls.
The day before the day before yesterday, I was still playing hide-and-seek in my mother’s body, without a care in the world, how happy I was!
