ANTON LITVIN
1967, Moscow. Lives and works in Moscow

The photo-trip consists of the series of photographs taken at one of the biggest Moscow factories, ZIL (Zavod imeni Likhacheva), and the reconstruction within the exhibition space of an amazing object that became the main actor of this photo session.
The scarlet flower is a symbol of survival for the people working in this monstrous space with its dehumanized conditions, the only reminder of the real world. At the same time the workers do not want the real world, which is too difficult, incomprehensible, and strange. The flower is something of a defense against the exploiting essence of the factory. The hard work at the factory leads to compulsory psychological migration; people are forced to find a way to survive in this alien and aggressive environment. Devoid of fresh air, light, and freedom they can be likened to people devoid of their motherland. And the problem of survival in a strange context is most important, whether it deals with cultural differences or work at a monstrous factory.
